Overselling, and why we don't do it
Overselling is bad for you!
Imagine you run a hosting company! You buy a new server, which comes with a shiny 120Gig hard drive. You factor in 20 Gigs for the operating system, software etc, which leaves you with 100 Gigs.

You now devise plans that will be competitive, and then calculate how many you can fit on a server. Let us say that we settle on 250 Megabytes of space per plan (Like our Topaz Plan) then we could fit just over 400 accounts per server.

At this point nearly every host I can think of (apart from ourselves) decides to sell more than they can give, which is called "overselling". It's reasonable, to a point, as not everyone uses all of their allocated resources. The premise goes something like this; If I can fit quadruple the accounts per server, i.e oversell by 400% I'm going to make more money.

This is where I have a problem with overselling, basically what the host is saying is that they're not actually going to provide everyone with the advertised space, furthermore some hosts oversell so much (1000% +) that they put so many accounts per server they reduce the quality of the service offered, often greatly.
Krystal is different. Not only do we not oversell at all (that's 0% oversell!), but we also limit the number of accounts per server so as to ensure that the servers remain unloaded. Futhermore, we include 2 backups which don't cut into your web space quota, either weekly and monthly if you're on one of our Shared Hosting Plans or Daily and Weekly if you're on one of our Premium Hosting Plans
