If you're considering changing your host and joining Krystal then we can help. The process is relatively simple.
Transferring to Us
Checklist
- Place an order with us for the hosting, so that you have somewhere to upload to!
You have 2 choices when it comes to domains;-
- Initiate a transfer of the domain(s) to us (Don't worry, this won't affect your current hosting)
- Keep the domain(s) at the current registrar
To make the process seamless;-
- Upload your website to your Krystal space via the server IP
- Re-create all of the email accounts/forwarders
- Preview the site via the server URL to check it's perfect
- Finally, when happy, change the nameservers
- Propogation typically takes 2 - 8 hours
- Until it changes people will go to your old space, after, Krystal's.
- You can now cancel your old plan :)
cPanel Hosting Migrations
If you're currently on a cPanel host it's likely we can help you if you can provide us with a cPanel Move File.
- Place an order with us for the hosting, so that we have somewhere to upack your file!
You have 2 choices when it comes to domains;-
- Initiate a transfer of the domain(s) to us (Don't worry, this won't affect your current hosting)
- Keep the domain(s) at the current registrar
This is where it differs!
- Submit a ticket via the support site letting us know you want help moving
- Generate a cPanel Move File through your current cPanel under the "Backups" section. Choose to generate a "Full Backup"
- This will create single tar.gz file consisting of all your files, databases, and email forwarders and filters.
- It may take some time to generate the file so be patient, it should email you when done.
- If you can't see that option in your cPanel ask your current host to generate it for you.
- Provide us with a URL link where we can obtain your file.
- We'll try to restore your account and once done you can change the nameservers.
