Shared SSL Certificates

Shared Servers
All of our shared web servers are running a shared SSL certificate. This means that you can use this certificate to host secure pages without purchasing you own SSL certificate. The drawback is that it will display a krystal.co.uk URL in the title bar.
If you are running an online shop, then we strongly suggest that you get your own unique SSL certificate, but if you are just wanting to test things - or run some non critical secure content then you can use our shared SSL.
How to use our Shared SSL
Firstly, you need to find out which server you are on. For this example, we will use "ares.krystal.co.uk".
The path to your website will be <SERVERNAME>/~<USERNAME> , so if our username is mrmason then the link to our secure site is :
https://ares.krystal.co.uk/~mrmason/
Please note, that this reads directly from your public_html folder as your domain does - there isn't any special folders for secure pages - they are the same pages as your normal site.
Common Tickets (1)
I tried accessing the shared SSL and got the following message...
www.*domain*.com:443 uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for <a id="cert_domain_link" title="*.krystal.co.uk">*.krystal.co.uk</a>.
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)
Any suggestions?
Solution (1)
You need to use the shared SSL url here :
https://<SERVERNAME>.krystal.co.uk/~<YOURUSERNAME>
replacing:
<YOURUSERNAME> with your cpanel username - this will then show you your site with our ssl certificate. <SERVERNAME> with the name of the server, ie. Ares / Artemis etc.
